Designer: Sebastian Herkner
The Caribe garden armchair is part of the Caribe furniture series designed by Sebastian Herkner for the manufacturer ames. In Santa Marta on the Caribbean coast, the chairs of this outdoor collection are handmade by craftsmen using a weaving technique, the “Momposino” technique, which is typical for this region.
Herkner sketches this garden chair for the Cologne Design Gallery with a classic artist’s colour pencil in an opaque chimney red. In contrast to a pencil sketch, the design acquires an independent character through the chosen colouring and refers to the artisan creation process. The round seat is set off from the rest of the chair in a magenta red colour. Herkner draws with determined strong lines, the rich application of colour makes the chair shine and gives it a vividness.
For all design lovers who have a passion for individual, handcrafted design.
We print this illustration on Hahnemühle Photo Rag (308 g/m²) artist paper made of cotton with a fine, soft surface structure. The white cotton artist paper with its characteristic, pleasantly soft feel captivates with its softly pronounced felt structure and gives every work of art a three-dimensionality and impressive pictorial depth. In combination with the matt premium inkjet coating, outstanding prints in brilliant colors, deep blacks, impressive contrasts and perfect reproduction of details are created. The paper is acid and lignin free.
Each print comes with a certificate of authenticity of the gallery. The following information is noted on the certificate: author of the work, title of the work, year of creation, edition, printing technique, manufacturer and model of the printer, paper.
