For this special illustration, Stockholm designer Jonas Wagell has swiped through his old and new scribbles for the Julep upholstered furniture series designed for Tacchini and selected some of his favourite sketches and form studies for the Cologne Design Gallery. His sketches are seldom refined, but he continuously repeats the forms of the upholstery series in search of a specific expression or character, a study of form.
With the help of dark green and grey tones and the skillful use of textures, Wagell succeeds in transforming his busy repeated line drawings into graphic volumes and in presenting the family of upholstered furniture in its diversity in an exciting composition.
Due to the restrained, cool green and grey tones, this illustration blends in well with light but especially with dark living interiors.
We print this illustration on Hahnemühle Photo Rag (308 g/m²) artist paper made of cotton with a fine, soft surface structure. The white cotton artist paper with its characteristic, pleasantly soft feel captivates with its softly pronounced felt structure and gives every work of art a three-dimensionality and impressive pictorial depth. In combination with the matt premium inkjet coating, outstanding prints in brilliant colors, deep blacks, impressive contrasts and perfect reproduction of details are created. The paper is acid and lignin free.
